Cottonwood to Flagstaff, AZ
Another nice morning with temps starting in the mid-40s. Rolled into Sedona and stopped at a great coffee shop with incredible views. Our tour company knows the best spots to stop for food and views.
Then off to ride through canyon of Slide Rock State Park. Next, an excellent climb that provided wonderful views of the switchbacks and the valley (~5,000' of climb today). Arrived in Flagstaff before the rooms were ready so we all sat with our feet in the hot tub and shared more stories and jokes. A couple of folks said Linda had the best line of the day when I climbed up on a wall with a significant drop off and she said "Oh no, Darwin".
Weather is really nice in Flagstaff (elevation 6,900''). They 2 women at the front desk are wearing down jackets and the ski resort, Snow Bowl, is still open. We don't miss the desert.
The beauty of today's ride was remarkable. I don't know how many times someone would share that they can't believe we are out here with all the scenery.
Tomorrow is a day off. Everyone's rear is ready for the rest.

Im enjoying the writings. Isnt Jerome a great place? Dont forget to hike down the Bright Angel trail to the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon on your day off (ha, ha). Hows Nan doing?

Nan is doing great. She is tough! And always pedaling with a beautiful smile.
DeleteThanks so much for your posts! Glad you're having a good trek through AZ. We used to picnic and hike in the Slide Rock, Sedonna areas years ago and they really are so beatiful. Have a fun and relaxing day off. You certainly earned it!

Thanks Cindy and Rick! It's beautiful country. Not sure how much if it I'll enjoy tomorrow as we head out in the rain and cold, but so glad to be here.
