A Spectacular "last" ride

Today's ride: Brattleboro, VT to Burlington, Mass: 90.5 miles, 4,900 feet of climb

Tomorrow we do a short 16 mile ride to dip our front wheels in the Atlantic ocean. Today was our last long, full day ride.

Most rode a little slower than usual. Taking it all in. Taking lots of photos.

We started out in a nice fog

Rode into New Hampshire, whose state slogan should be "Live Free or Die While Going up a Hill"

We are doing a ride in Maine in September and look forward to being back in NH, VT and ME to spend time hiking and riding.

Got some good photos in front of a long covered bridge.

We would ride with these guys anytime, anywhere. They are smart, funny, fast and safe riders. When we were together, we were either pedaling, eating, or laughing. Sometimes all 3 at once.

Rode by a lot of streams that also provide great audio to ride by

Our logistics manager got us a new mascot

After 41 days in the saddle, we finally got to the last state.

A good chunk of our day were on roads like this

Odd to be done. So glad I got to do it with Linda. Nothing better than having your #1 fan to enjoy this journey with. Her beautiful smile went through all types of weather, climbs and flat tires.

Linda: and I so appreciate Bill's patience. He had to wait for me at many intersections every day while I struggled to catch up. He spent way more time on the road than he had to. I'm a lucky woman.

We are definitely in New England. Lots of wood buildings and narrow roads. We look forward to some fresh fish.

Tonight is our banquet. Tomorrow a bunch of us will watch the US women's national team play France. Saturday we catch a 6 AM flight home. Really look forward to seeing our family.

Thanks for reading our blog.
