Managable head winds

Yesterday we rode up to rock formation outside of McPherson KS. Although it was the highest point for quite a ways, unfortunately, it was only ~50 feet higher than where we were riding.  Views were only a bit different.

On the observation deck we met a young guy who asked where we were going. He shared he is going to K State for aeronotical engineering, graduating next spring. Someone said "Have employers been calling you asking for you to come work for them?". He got a big smile and said "Yeah, quite a few".
After he left we all "old manned up" and talked about how inflation was in the middle teens when we graduated and no called any of us. I really enjoy riding with folks in their 60 and 70s.

Today's ride: Dodge City, KS to McPherson, KS: 65 miles; ~1,000 feet of climb

We rode east with 10 mph winds out of the east. We had a tight pace line for the first 30+ miles. Made good time. Broke up and rode the last 35 miles passing each other and going at our own pace.

In April, on our daughter's and grandson's (Oliver) spring break, Grandma taught Oliver to ride his two wheeler. Today he rode 5.2 miles on 4 year, 2 month old legs. We are very impressed.

In Kansas, there is a chain of Ice Cream/Dairy Stores. We stop at them after the ride or after dinner, or both, and one time we just went there and had a bunch of ice cream for dinner. I don't know when we will run out of them, but they will be missed.
