Columbus to El Paso
A beautiful sunset last night in Columbus.
We stayed in an unused school the mayor is turning into a community center. He visited and explained how he's trying to get the state to put in bike paths and designate scenic byways. A real advocate for his community. That's him in the cowboy hat.
No photos today. Nice ride (73 miles), but unfortunately lots of goatheads (vicious thorns). Bill had 3 flats. We're trying some sealant in our tubes that guys at the local bike store say is necessary to ride around here. Tomorrow the experiment begins.
Crossed the Rio Grande as we rode into Texas. Not grande or much of a rio in this part of El Paso.
How cool! Mayor sounds like the type of dude Id like to have a drink with. Just out of curiosity, I see that you are biking like 70-90 miles on a given day ..... how many hours of riding is that?
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Depends on the winds and climbs. Probably 5 or 6 hours.
