Dauphin Island to Milton, Florida

Quite a day. Rode a ferry across Mobile Bay. Got a good photo of the bridge onto the island that we rode across 2 days ago and of some of the oil platforms out in the bay.

Once on land, 15 to 18 mph headwinds. We had our 2 person pace line, switching every mile.
Beautiful views of the water, but quite unprotected from the wind. To borrow a quote from another rider "those miles were soul sucking". At about mile 50 we got up from the gulf on a ridge with some trees and the remaining 36 miles  of the 86 mile ride were nice.
Because the owner didn't get us a place to stay in Pensacola (original goal) we rode onto to Milton, FL and will have another day off tomorrow.
Pensacola looks like a nice town to spend a day in. Milton is just a wide spot in the road. Hope to return to Pensacola someday.
Then 7 days of riding to the end in St Augustine.
