Day off in Marathon, TX

Camping in Marathon, TX. 

We decided to skip the trip to Big Bend NP though it sounds beautiful. Just couldn't spend 4 hours in a van. A perfect day --- not too windy or hot.

Our side by side tents. These are marketed as 6 person tents, not sure where the other 5 people would fit.

Went to a garden in town. This Mexican Elder tree has leaves growing out of a beautiful white trunk.

Nice quiet lunch at the french grocery. Big chocolate chip cookies and a stop for ice cream. Bill is enjoying eating every hour when awake. The more salt and sugar, the better.

    Love following your story through these updates. Thanks for sharing! It took a while, but finally found something I could relate to (as this body will NOT be going on any 100 mile bike rides LOL) ... the chocolate chip cookies and ice cream :) Enjoy the rest of your trip. Safe travels.
