Kerrville to Blanco to Lockhart

Yesterday was one of our nicest rides on twisty, turney roads of Texas hill country.
Chilly start (30s) with a quick warm up.
Had lunch at Hillbillz (yes , it ends witha z).Great brisket wrap.

This is our fellow rider Kevin from Chicago. He is the only rider that got into the spirit of the place and had a lonestar with his brisket.
Stopped at the wildlife sanctuary to see happy, healthy animals.

Today we saw a few flocks of Linda's favor animal.
The ewes are pretty rough on their moms when they nurse.

This is our buddy Marc from Huntsville, AL
 His bike weighs 14 lbs.
Another guy we ride with had 3 of his best friends since kindergarten fly down from Chicago to make sure  "he didn't join a cult and drink the kool aid". They joined us for dinner last night.

Our caterer was not reserved a spot in the state park last night, so we got fajitas from from a local place. Doughnuts and coffee for breakfast.
Folks are glad to see our caterer when we got to our new camp site tonight. She is a heck of a good cook
Today's ride was a little rougher than yesterday with some busy roads. Some old boy called Linda an idiot while riding in traffic. He received a piece of her mind. "Real tough man" was part of her response. "Yelling at a 64 year old grandma" was another segment.
Stopped for pie in Kyle, then deli and a slushy in Lockhart.
Wind stayed in the high teens, but have moved mostly into cross winds from the south.

  1. Sounds like the food is often good. I also learned that I should be careful about yelling at women bicyclists. Be safe.

Hey - do you pedal every day? Off one day/week?
