La Grange to Hidalgo Camp

A 69 mile ride to the NE today. Good winds out of the south, so overall, it was our friend today.

Huge fields of wild flowers again. Our Texas riders say April is the best month to visit.

Lots of rolling hills and quiet country roads.

We are continually amazed that horses could care less about us riding by, but the cows always look and follow us with their eyes as we pass. They may be judging us, but we love it.

As we passed between San Antonio and Austin the ranches got bigger. Now near Houston the gates and ranches are really getting bigger and fancier.

Went by another animal sanctuary, this one for some exotics.

We have the day off tomorrow and are headed into College Station for part of the day.

If we have the energy, we may go kayaking on the Brazos  river
