Layover day on Dauphin Island

Great day off on a small barrier island.
Started the day at a great bakery where a local shared "this island is one of the last Mayberrys".
For being in the gulf, very quiet.  The beaches are large and quite empty.
Had 2 great fresh fish dinners.
Rode around a bit. Hit a local craft fair and walked around a huge bird sanctuary.
A very funny fellow rider took these photos us us riding to the island the day before.

After having a huge poboy with shrimp at a local place on the water. The guy with the hat is one of the mechanics and has done the trip a bunch of times and has lots of funny stories and good insights on where to eat.  Linda has coffee with him and another rider every morning at 6.

There was a long, high bridge we had to cross to get to the island. Thank goodness we had strong headwinds, as the side barrier was not that tall.
