Poplarville to Ocean Springs

Woke up to beautiful misty morning. 74 miles, 2200 feet of ascent, but almost all gentle rollers, and (of course) headwinds. But loving the roads in Mississippi -- smooth with considerate drivers. It could not be more different than Texas.

Thank county commissioners of Jackson County, MS. They rolled out the red carpet with a freshly paved road. The woods help block some of the winds.
One of the rest stops was at a church (we now average 2 stops per day). A lot of churches down here.......like one every 2 or 3 miles. A running joke is "we are riding on church road today".

Rode by some beautiful horse farms.

The one below caught our eye. As one local shared "we pretty much have one of everything down here".

So nice to be by the water/gulf, after so long in the dessert. Here is the view from our campsite.

Tomorrow, into Alabama!
