St Francesville to Franklinton
A long day! 86.6 miles, 3200 feet of ascent, and double digit headwinds.
Thank goodness we were on bicycles.
Great temperatures, started in the 40s and peaked in the high 60s.
Linda got some good carmel popcorn here.
On day 4 of the trip our tour mgr left with her boyfriend. One of the mechanics suggested they hire a friend of his from St Louis. The guy from St Louis suggested they hire his partner as the tour mgr and he would be a mechanic and help set up tents.
Well these 2 have made the trip sooo much better. Our new tour manager is in her late 20s, has never done a tour like this let alone managed one and she is CRUSHING it. She has a ton of positive energy and is very quick witted. We are very lucky to have her lead the way. The owner of the tour has dropped the ball a few times and the Tour Mgr and her team always find a way to fix it. Here she is running our nightly rider meeting.
The owner has stupid 4th grade day camp stuff she did at the beginning of the tour, which we have done away with after she left.
All good here on our last night in Louisiana.
Tomorrow, on to Mississippi.
Good to see you are both still on the road. When are you going to try some English cycling?
ReplyDeleteMaybe next year! How are you and Elizabeth?
ReplyDeleteI'm good Elizabeth had a fall from her bike last december ,was just about better when she fell skiing in Whistler and recreated the injury!
ReplyDeleteOh no. She is so adventurous. Hope she recovers soon.
